The summer is always full of great festivals and but with so many options, it can be hard to keep them all straight! A festival can be a huge commitment of a long weekend or even a week, but for those who want to hear amazing music and enjoy that unique festival atmosphere without spending a whole weekend in a muddy field without a shower, there is an answer. There are a wide range of day festivals going on all over the city throughout the summer and with top deals on hotels in London you can still join in the fun as well as enjoying a warm shower to wash away the mud and a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed.

These are some of the best day festivals in London:

Apple Cart

Families will enjoy Victoria Park’s Apple Cart festival, which provides entertainment that goes beyond music. Adopting a melting pot ethos, it’s the only event in the capital that has Turner prize winners, world class magicians and cabaret stars sitting alongside arena-filling comedians and established music legends all on the same bill, on the same day.

Wireless

Taking place in Hyde Park each year, Wireless is the perfect festival for pop music fans, with a line up this year featuring the likes of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Professor Green. Previous line-ups have seen Kanye West, P!nk and Jay-Z headline the festival, which first took place at Harewood House in Leeds in 2006.

South West Four

Dance music fans should head to London’s scenic Clapham Common for South West Four which takes place every August bank holiday weekend. Firmly established as one of the UK’s most important and influential electronic music festivals, it recently won DJ Magazine’s ‘Best British Festival’ at the Best of British Awards and some of the world’s biggest DJs have played at the festival, including David Guetta, Pete Tong and Fatboy Slim.
